ust. nijam gathering - it went well!

dear Gen 05 fans (ewaah! n_n),

The gathering with ust. Nijam was a success! Alhamdulillah, the turnout was great, but most of those present were from sec 5B/C (except for one Aqilah Aminuddin). I have to acknowledge here a certain Atiq Zain, for since we left school, i dont think anyone had seen him :D and also Iman, since she's in KL, i bet she needed to see everyone again too, and have a good malaysian meal to top it off. thank you all for coming.

for those who were not present, here is a personal and brief account of what happened.

The gathering was suppose to officially start at 5pm, and the invites had asked for everyone's presence BEFORE 5, which most managed to adhere to (thank you lots). There were myself, Amalia, Basma, Iman, Alia, Kausar, Melor, Rasya, Munirah and Aqilah, and we all came before the guys (except maybe Sharaf). Guys were; Sharaf, Imran, Fattah, Atiq, Amin, Fadly, Khuzairi.

Sharaf helped ferry ustNijam (and wife) from the train station (thank you Sharaf Shahdan).
Most of us were there and eating by 5, and everyone was busy updating each other and ust was talking about naseer alot too.

Iman's giant camera was being passed around snapping everything and everyone in it's way, so most of the photos are with her (including the group photos).

surprise surprise when Amin and Fadhly came with their out of the ordinary hair-dos. for those of us who didnt know their change of direction (in the hairstyling sense that is), including ustaz, wore an :O expression. personally, i felt like scratching my own hair when i saw amin. doesn't it ITCH? geram dowh.
enough of that.

when all were present, we each took turns round the table to tell ustaz what we were up to, and what's next. he took a video of each of us! >_<
and we made him speak too. of course. there's a video, but i need to edit it a little, and i'll post it up soon (basma video-ed it btw-- credits).

and oh, after all that, atiq walked in and everyone was again :O we havent seen him in ages.

last but not least, never ever had it been least, group photo! by 7, people started needing to leave, so iman handled the bill (no, she didn't exactly pay for us, but it was equally tough to do) and then we took photos outside the restaurant. penang village people were TOO BUSY to help snap the photos, so we had the Cozy House manager to take it for us :DD
and then bersurai.

it was fun! i'm glad the turnout was really good. and it was very nice to see ust. Nijam. and it couldnt have been better that it was teacher's day. we couldnt have celebrated him any better.

Dear friends of each others crazy pasts,

There will be a reunion this coming Sunday, that is organized especially for Ust. Nijam. He will be in KL this weekend and this reunion will be the perfect get-together for us all to meet him and each other. It'll just be a tea-that-may-lag-on-to-dinner thing, details as follow;

Fyi, Penang Village restraunt is quite classy and my personal estimate of one person's meal is RM20-30. which is ok la, and considering it's a special occasion (UST. NIJAM COMING LA!), it should be proper. penang village link
GE mall surau is comfortable too. so asar/magrib covered with comfort.
to those who don't know where GE mall is, google it or something. but i doubt that there are many of you who don't.

anyways, please respond to the invite that Iman would have sent out to you, and if you think other people from our batch that are not on iman's friends list, please invite them too.

the aim NOW is to get the rough estimate of guests so reservations can proceed. please help out, it's not sooo hard to tell ME if you're coming or not K.

alhamdulillah, buka @ OU was FUN! there were awkward hi-s exchanged at first, and then got talking and then... ahaha we all took lotsa photos, tease each other like nobody's business, all the long-time-no-see stuff people do :)

and we didn't even lalu seoul garden restaurant.. reservations couldn't be made because it was fully booked for the next couple of days! gosh.. in the end we ended up buka-ing at Nando's. lucky we could find a place for 20 people at super short notice, like what, 45min before buka? at OU mesti tempat lain suma dah penuh..

yes, silence has descended upon us all. and as the exams loom over many of us (myself personally not included, but i feel for the rest of you!), i hope to be the bearer of preeminent news and declare an official invitation to the ADNIALUMNI PAINTBALL BASH!

details are as typed below;

date: 2nd May 2009, Saturday

venue: TT Sports, Lot 017394 Taman Subang Ria, Subang Jaya

rendezvous point for convoy: ADNI islamic school (i’m sure everyone is familiar with this place :) )

time leaving rendezvous point: 7.30 AM. please be punctual, we leave ADNI at 730 AM. anyone who misses the convoy will be subjected to NO REFUND of RM50. we must be at the paintball arena by 8AM

time of activity: 8AM to 2PM

price: RM 50.

this includes all necessary paintball equipment

200 pellets (more can be bought at request, but extra cash is needed)

Okays, so i said earlier to free your second week of march (because that's MY holidays!:D). Sorry this planning and posting is so late... But anyways!

Because everyone will get busier towards the end of the year with exams and what not, why not we do a get together next week for Batch 5? (9th-15th march). And make it a super awesome one and make sure as many as possible can make it?:D

The what to do, I either suggest kite flying or ice skating:) because kite flying is so awesome and you guys will laugh your heart out (and maybe we can have a picnic there too!). glad the reunion went well, and sorry for not being able to attend. i know, i have issues. so like alia has posted before this, we are actually having our annual adni alumni get-together. or as i like to say 'par-tayyy'. well not really lah.

the venue has changed from adni to syed harris's house in kajang. details on transportation will be given latest by tomorrow inshallah. and since it will be at a different venue, it will most probably be early in the day, maybe in the morning. date still stays the same, 20th december.

what i wanted to let everyone know is that i will be making calls to those people of whom i possess their numbers, if i don't have your number, sorry lah ye. read the blog.

anyhow, i need to know if you're coming. so please comment either in the cbox or here. our batch is in charge of bringing beef. which is like beef steak thingies. and i know that at the last gathering the first batch brought these meat things, and i guess the safest bet is to get those beef steaks and marinate them and we're going to have a barbeque going on at the gathering so we'll cook 'em there. so, i have no qualms about buying and preparing the beef on YOUR behalf. i'll bring the beef to the gathering, and i will be a tax collecter and collect like RM5 each of you. cheaper if i can find cheaper meat and cheaper if more people come. it will be a potluck, but since i'm bringing the meat on your behalf, just come with your stomachs.

this is going to be the biggest reunion yet. we're going to have people from the first batch all the way to the newest sixth batch. even some old IICians are coming, so i heard. so please do come. transport details will be conveyed as soon as possible.

For the alumni meeting today, we discussed on putting together an alumni get-together (something like the one we did last year at janda baik).

So, here are the details:

DATE: Saturday 20th December 2008

Time: 5pm (evening)

Venue: Sekolah Islam Adni
*the venue has long been debated. We wanted some place to do outdoorsy stuff AND somewhere people can easily converge and for everyone's convenience. Suggestions for a better place is very much welcomed and may be considered:)*

Food has been divided in such a way that each batch has been assigned to provide food for 40 people.
Batch 1: Seafood - sotong, udang fish
Batch 2: Marinated Mutton/ Lamb
Batch 3 and 4: Marinated Chicken, Drinks and Nasi Ayam (just the Nasi)
Batch 5: Marinated Beef (in charge is Iman Azman)
Batch 6: Mashed Potatoes, Garlic Bread, Fruits, Salad

Be a sport, people. Come and make an enjoyable get-together because your presence is very much needed:D

i know it's just been five days into ramadhan, but i met up with alia and aqilah today and we thought that we MUST have a raya gathering. must must must MUST! because some of us wil be leaving soon and early of next year, and Allah knows when we'll all be in the same country for raya and this might be the last raya we have together in a long long time. so, i give you 'Seniors 2007 Raya Gathering!'

yes, your prayers are answered! we can finally meet everyone in one place again (well those who decide to come lah) and see how each other is. so the details are as followed:

venue: iman's house; 12 jalan persiaran ukay, vila sri ukay, ampang. it's in between bukit antarabangsa and adni, so you'd have no trouble finding it. and most of you have been to my house anyway, so don't complain and tell me you don't know where it is. i do have a phone, call me.

date: saturday, 4th october 2008. ok, so it's on the 4th day of raya. i know for some people it's like 'we're still at kampung lah' and all that, BUT a lot of us start our classes the following monday (6th october) so we might never get it together to have a gathering after that because some of us might be busy with finals (especially yours truly). so we're having it on the 4th day of raya. i'm telling you this now, so nanti you can't complain and tell me you're not coming because i'm telling you like almost a month in advance! so i better see you then..

time: 2pm till 5pm. my mom says between zohor and asar is ok.

the catch: ok, so obviously you're not getting totally free food..i'm no atm. it's a potluck thing. so please bring food, drinks, whatever that is consumable. and since it is raya, i don't think it'll be cool for everyone t bring kuih raya. we can't have a raya gathering with only 20 different types of kuih raya. so please bring food yea. no food, no entry. i am serious. and bawak perut kosong is not counted, because we can't eat your perut kosong.

dress code: we've always had these things, and it is raya; therefore everyone has to dress up in raya clothes! no, actually i'll repharse that, everyone has to wear traditional clothes. because someone might say that jeans is baju raya. and i don't want anyone to wear jeans or casual stuff. come in baju kurung, baju melayu, baju kedah, baju....like tradtional clothes ok! if anyone dresses inappropriately, i'm going to roll you down the slope of my house.

i know that was a lot of insturctions, but you guys should be able to handle it by now :) so Raya Gathering; it's on. and everyone is invited from our batch. i mean everyone! 5ABC. please come. we haven't met each other in so long (and i miss a lot of you guys) and a few of us are leaving, so COME THIS RAYA! spread the word, and call me if you need any clarification or anything. check the blog for updates and reminders.

great news from ust, Alhamdulillah. thanks iman for reporting from tamil nadhu, india. heheh..

another great news that all of us has already known, is that;

RAMADHAN IS HERE!

ahlan ya Ramadhan!

yes, in just a couple of days to go till the month yang dinanti-nantikan selama setahun tiba (?! skema nyer).

this year is also the first year that most of us will be spending Ramadhan not like the way we used to, together, in school, together sharing the best time of the year..
and i miss those times we sang lagu raihan tuu.. (kan imran? :'( )

but look on the bright side, this year we finally get the chance to spend Ramadhan with new faces in new places, an experience we will value for the rest of our lives as the '1st puasa in college'. hehehe, right? yea sorta..

yes the point is we are all grown up now (well most of us heheheheh joking2) and we'r all away from each other, and so this would be just a reminder to my dearest classmates (including 5a o7 too i suppose) and myself of course, to still make this coming Ramadhan more fruitful and joyous than the previous Rmadhans that we've experienced in the past.
hopefully everyone is mentally prepared, with high hopes and great intentions, ready to live Ramadhan to the fullest. and hopefully everyone of us would not forget to continue practising those deeds that we have done all these years together, only doing it with other people, but with as much meaning none the less.

a) Ustaz Nijam is officially a grandpa! his daughter Rafidah gave birth to a baby girl :) and naseer is an uncle! how cool is that. i wonder if her name is iman...

b) Naseer is in his first year of A-Levels in a college 350km from Ustaz Nijam. i don't think any of us live that far away from our families. He's in a really strict school, and is only allowed visits twice a month.

c) Ustaz Nijam, his wife and Raihana might be visiting us some time next year.

so good news all around from ustaz, pray for his health and wealth, maybe someday we'll all get to see his mansion :)

everyday i come to this blog to see if there is anything new, and so far i am dissapointed everyday. so i have decided to take matters into my own hands and update :) i can't depend on other people as they are ALL superbly busy.

to those who haven't picked up their graduation pictures from the adni office, i strongly advise you to do so NOW! just go to the office and ask the people there, nicely!, if you could get your graduation pictures.

they'd probably go and get the pictures at the back or something. and while you wait, i suggest you take out RM25 *well, that's how much it costs, you don't expect it to be FREE do you?* and the nice office ladies will ask you how you're doing and what college you're at now. i suggest you answer them nicely!

your graduation picture package will contain a huge ass picture if you and your family. and another picture of you taking your scroll. and you'll also get a cd containing all the photographer pictures. i think 300+ pictures are inside the cd.

totally worth it. there are some pictures i don't even remember taking. and everyone punye picture is in there. including one of my dad, so just ignore that one.

will post the pictures later on *when it's NOT 2.17am*. so make your way to the adni office and get your graduation pictures. because if you don't buy them, who else will?

oh, and some indonesian exchange students are in adni now. next week they will be going to janda baik for a weekend english camp and we are in need of facilitators. so i strongly urge those who want to come, or can come, to tag along with us. because we need help :) if anything, just call iman.

Salam everyone!:) It was really a surprise to see quite a number of people from our batch attending Syarifah's wedding on Saturday. It was a pleasure to meet you guys again!:)

We took soo many pictures; here and there and searching for a good spot for our batch picture before finally settling on one. Someone commented that it seems like our batch took the most pictures. We can be awarded as "The Most Vain Batch". Lol.

But I think it's just simply that we love looking through them again and again to remind us the good times we have and to show we have happy memories with each other:)

Fikrah ADNI; Adni's yearbook is out. This is the last fikrah that we'd be presented as Adni students; aka seniors. Next year and the years after that, we'd be called Alumni. Though we actually are already... sort of...

Here's a cool secret (cheh:P): For our pages, (the one where it shows a complete profile for each and everyone of us) it is actually a BIG picture of a board (at least that's how it was designed as initially). That's why some of them has only borders at one side or two sides but not completely. If you tear out the pages and put them together like a jigsaw puzzle, you'll see that they all join together:) though don't do that please. Just get many of the fikrah books and open them at each individual page and fit them together. Does that make sense? Lol. It has two parts because not everyone can fit together... Here's the Banner Painting we did for the Juniors; IGCSE and SPM Candidates. I really wish we had one for our batch>_< ... I know that maybe you can't see that clearly because of the lighting and maybe because the camera didn't capture the whole thing... I couldn't snap the whole banner because there were lockers behind me and couldn't go beyond that. Should have asked help from Imran or Sharaf to take the photos... The names of the candidates are decorated at the top and bottom of the banner, each name separated by golden smileys;courtesy of Kausar for the paint and Iman for the paint-ing. Lol.

The advice reads:

REMEMBER...

Bring square root of 3567 french curves in case one breaks
*It just means bring extra. It would be super scary if your french curve breaks while you're about to do a quadratic or trig graph for addmaths or an Ogive curve for maths. I would be in absolutely panicked mode*
Race for the van when to/from exam
*This especially goes to the girls because last year, there are many people in our batch and the van would have to take two trips. Once, the guys took the van first and we had to wait for about half an hour til we could go back to school.*
Bring extra $ for the yummy hot dogs
*Sometimes we have lunch or breakfast at IIS and sometimes we would be just plain hungry after an especially mentally tiring exam. The hot dogs there are a fave among our batch:)*
Bring oxygen tanks when going up the stairs
*Exam hall is on the topmost floor. Which is the fourth floor if I'm not mistaken. Added with the books that we have to carry and everything. We are left breathless once we reach there. However, I pointed out to Iman that if we brought oxygen tanks up, we would be even more tired because those tanks are not light. Lol*
Statement of entry is a MUST
*The only ever time I forgot to bring my Statement of Entry was the only ever time the invigilator asked to look at it. I never forgot to bring it again*

how annoyed am i that no one (except three wonderful people) decided to show up in adni today BEFORE nine o'clock to paint a lovelyish HUGE banner for our juniors that was signed 'love, SENIORS 2007'.

honestly; it should have been signed 'love, ****** and **** and ****'.

you guys talk about wanting to get together lah, nak jumpe lagi lah, miss you all lah yada yada yada.

but when we jemput to do somehting nice for juniors TOGETHER, no one bothers.
some of us came back this weekend thinking that they would be able to meet people that they miss on saturday; but i guess not since most of y'all decided to sleep in. so boo to you.

Girls' Qiyam[10th May] [cancelled until further notice]

Okay so I know that Qiyam was moved tomorrow and some people know it. This afternoon when I met Teacher Fatin, she said qiyam tomorrow is cancelled because first semester exam is on monday; so if there are any last minute changes or whatsoever, I'll be sure to post it up, InsyaAllah. Not so sure about it being on the 16th either. Once a date is confirmed, I'll inform you people.

Banner Painting [Saturday, 9am 10th May][BRING YOUR OWN PAINTBRUSHES!]

This saturday, we'll be doing the painting!:) I've asked permission from ust Muallimin and he said we can use either the muttaqin centre (where we've been doing grad day performance practises) OR that area behind the girls' dining hall. Check if it's at the muttaqin centre; if not, then most likely it's the other place. If not, just contact me then:P

By the way, I'm not so sure how many of you are coming, so I would like to request that you bring your own paintbrushes. Because I'm afraid that there might not be many paintbrushes and most people would just be sitting there doing nothing when we have a lotta work to do!>_<

i squealed out loud in com tech class when i read this. because, it's the first line in that post :) how refinely honored am i? very much. haha. anyway firstly; 2nd may is a horrible date. it should be erased off all calenders in the world. the universe would do so much without the date '2nd may'. anyway, i'm horribly sorry, but i cannot make it back home this weekend, and i cannot come to qiam either. i know, i know; the whole hypocritical thing. but i have finals on the 26th of may. and i have 13 more classes till my finals. which means i have...you really don't want me to elaborate.
anyhow. you girls should go to qiam. really. you guys havent seen each other in so long, and i know the juniors would jump out of their skulls to see us. i mean you guys..minus me. haha. so make sure you go. and show support and stuff.

i have a very bad weekend. let this be known to all; my rabbits have passed away. i say passed away instead of died because 'died' sounds so morbid, passed away sounds much more respectful. so anyway; my rabbits passed away. it's kind of odd that all four of them passed away, because if one died, then it'd be kind of a little 'ok'. but in this instance, all four of them are gone. which is sad. zara, chichi, lulu and kiko are gone. from this world. from me. forever.

so the dogs that stray around attacked them yesterday. i didn't go back this weekend, and my family went out the whole day. so last night when amal asked abdulaziz to go and check on them; he came back with the horrifying news that they had passed away. i know i cannot swear on this, cos it's like bad..but that bitch! i mean the dog ok. zara was totally mangled and the other three were bitten and stuff. and they passed away, to bunny heaven. i hope. i don't want to cry, because they were just bunnies. but you guys know how much my rabbits meant to me.

remember when i brought lulu to school? and ustaz nijam loved her, and she used to run around the classroom when we did maths. and then remember that khuz liked her, cos she had cool eyeliner eyes. and how she pooped on the desk and i had to clean it? i miss lulu. i didn't even say goodbye to them.

the hardest part is to think that they must have had a painful death. i don't even want to think about how scared they were, cos my bunnies used to be scared at the smallest thing. and i hate thinking that they were scared, that's a horrible way to pass away. it's horrible to even think that they are buried at the bottom of out garden. i hope my family gave them a proper funeral.

i wish alia and fuddy were here to give me a hug and let me cry in their hugs for a while. you cannot cry here. cos people think you're a freak.

a remember the time when i brought lulu last year? and we scared t.nila with her :) lulu loved khuz, and i know lulu loved you guys too. and i know she would want us to get new rabbits.

probably those who weren't that close to me are thinking 'what the hell? they're freaking rabbits. you can just get new one'. but you do not understand, those rabbits were part of my family ok, they're like how you people are to me; family.

and i wish i could hug them one more time and give them a carrot. for now i am truly crying; i miss zara, chichi, lulu and kiko. i hope they had a good life with us. and i hope they know that i love them alot.

Let's visit Iman! [Friday 2nd May 2008] [Sunway]

Small side story: I admit it is very difficult to figure out a way to reach Sunway through public transport excluding the taxi (my parents would not allow me to use the taxi in a million years). So I looked at the map and tried to figure a way to use the LRT and KTM or even bus (actually, haven't figured out the bus way yet)... Sadly, I have not yet reached a plan. Sorry:( If anyone can devise a plan, then please, discuss it with me. Maybe something better, we order a HUGE cake, and we all hide inside it, deliver to Iman and spring out in surprise!:D That way, we can have cake as well in celebration. Haha. No.
Conclusion: So, if Iman comes back this Friday for the girls' Qiyam, then that should be fine and we can get together then. Let us know your plans, Iman:)

Girls, I was informed that the Girls' Qiyam would be this Friday. Let's join?:) Even if we can't for the whole thing, at least a part of it would be fine.

Painting for Juniors [Morning, Saturday 10th May 2008] [Adni]

The date is not actually confirmed yet. Just a suggestion. Actually, their exam papers begin on 12th May... If we do it this Saturday, I'm afraid that it might be hectic, what with the Girls' Qiyam (plus, I can't make it in the morning though:P).
Let me know if you people can make it on this date. Or if majority prefer, you guys can do it on the 3rd May (after Girls' Qiyam). So it's 3rd may or 10th may. You guys call the shots.

Syed Harris' and Sharifah's wedding [Saturday 21st June 2008] [Janda Baik]

Kak Anisah contacted me and asked me to invite our batch to attend their wedding; because "Sharifah nak sangat semua datang for the alumni evening". hihi. salams. you can probably tell it's me, because of my ever so distingusihed font style and font size :) well, i told alia i would contribute to the blog, and i would love to. to those who do not know (i doubt that there are many) i'm in sunway college, yesyes, with sara rahman. and i have this one class where i have to keep a blog, and i must update it three times a week, and since i'm on blogspot a lot, i guess i should do my bit in 'pieceing back' our bond and relationships by writing in here.

well, how are y'all? there was a bowling thing last friday, which i initiated, but did not attend! i know right, you bloody hyprocrite imann!! i had good reason, so gimme a break guys. we'll make one soon. one where a lot of people can come, and stuff.

i really miss school a lot. i know that dulu we were all like 'i cannot wait to leave' , 'let's burn down the school', 'mampos lah this stupid blue building'. but honestly, it's so hard to be away from you guys. i'd still like to burn the school down, but id take you guys out first. haha. it's not so much school that i miss (expect islamic studies and math), i miss the hanging out, the teasing, the cepe and battleship and the babs here and bodos there.

hope everyone is doing well in wherever they are now. some in singapore (i miss you nunu!), some in jungles somewhere, some in their comfy homes sitting in front of computers allll day, some in college, and some who have simply fallen off the face of the universe.

keep in touch. regardless of how boring your life is, look at me :) lol. well, must go. i have a major test in socities and a video project that's due tomorrow.

Assalamualaikum ADNI Generation 05!:)

There are 44 of us, and after Graduation Day, we've all gone our separate ways. I kept reading lines like: "We'll never see each other again!" and "I don't know when we'll ever meet.."

I know it's difficult for everyone to meet up again, what with lectures, assignments and other priorities (not to mention some are not in Malaysia) now that we are not bound by Adni Secondary 5 classes and activities (and morning talks and breaks and lunches... etc).

The memories we shared and went through together shouldn't end just because we can't see each other again.

So here, let's take advantage of the technological era.

This blog is for Adni Generation 05. For stories, announcements, birthday shout outs, catching ups, "all the best" wishes, encouragements, reminders and everything else!:) Just for us. And basically to stop us from wondering if our mates are still alive; if we've not heard from them for so long!XD

Plus, when I send announcements, I don't have everyone's emails. Or maybe some people don't use their email accounts often. Or some people get soo many emails that they might miss mine out:(

At least we know where everyone is. And 10 years down the road, I don't want it to be that we can't recognize any of us even if they are right in front of our noses. Instead, from 20 miles, we can already spot and start screaming, "OMG that's fuddy!!!". (I will not mention Iman Azman because you know your name has been put up countless times in other blogs:P)

Hope you all are doing well:D

Remember "last time", the seniors used to make a poster cloth thing for the juniors wishing them all the best for their major exam (ie SPM and IGCSE)?

Eventhough we didn't get one from our seniors,doesn't mean we shouldn't do one for our juniors. I think maybe it's a good idea for us to paint/make one for OUR juniors as they are sitting for their exam next month (for IGCSE that is)

I know not everyone is 'close' to the juniors Batch 6 or they're not on good terms or whatever the excuses are, but hear me out first! Drawing and painting it is together with OUR batch so it's a good excuse to get together again and just have a good time painting, like all those times we did for the Merdeka event (the flag and the two award-winning posters which got wet in the rainXD...), for the Mathematics Week, for Sports Day House Decors and for the other merdeka poster (wc the girls did in sec 4 and we half finished it and ended up still painting to finish it up after the competition) and all the other every winning posters we did in our Secondary school and all. lol. Good memories:)

Anyways! I've not confirmed it yet. The date time and place. Of course it should be in these two weeks (since it should be before May/June). Maybe in school coz that's the easiest place we all can assemble.
As for materials and stuffs, we can just use the cloth we bought for our grad (if its still there) and borrow or buy or find pelaka/paint.

UPDATES 11 Graduation

Assalamualaikum everyone!:D

1 more day to graduatioN!:D

For today's 'rehearsal' we had a meeting with Puan Zaiton and Puan Laili and they told us what to do during the rehearsal (plus the real thing) for the morning ceremony. It is quite complicated (to me) because we have to sorta rotate and change seats... So if majority can come tomorrow, then it would be much easier for things to go smoothly on the real day and the people who couldnt come to the rehearsal, they could just follow whatever we do:P

Here's a few reminders:

1. ATTENDEES:
-For the dinner, please confirm the number of people coming. THe number needs to be confirmed so that they can be seated in such a way that your family members/guests sit together.
-Confirm it by TOMORROW. If you can't come to Adni tomorrow, at least call the office 0342526810 and speak with Puan Noorma as she handles the attendance.

2.FRIDAY REHEARSAL
- Tomorrow we'll be going to ISTAAC from ADNI at 9:00am so please be at adni between 8-8:30am.
-Over there, we'll be rehearsing for the morning ceremony until before Solat Jumaah and we'll head back to school.
-At adni, we'll rehearse the dinner performance and finalize the tentative program and everything else:D plus how we enter the hall and how we give the gifts. Those who are performing, please make sure that your 'costume' for the performance is already settled by tomorrow too.

3. ON D-DAY
-Wear your Morning Ceremony Graduation Attire from home
-After the morning ceremony, some of us would have to go to Raintree for decorations and also performance practise there. Transportation would be arranged for these few people. After we're settled with everything over there, you can decide to go home and get ready and take a rest.
-Then the DInner begins:)

UPDATES 10 Graduation

Updates? THere ARE no updates! AHahaha. Just kidding:P

1. PERFORMANCE PRACTISE
- going really well and it's looking good, Alhamdulillah. Finally we've figured out an ending (a comparatively HAPPIER ending than what some people initially wanted:P lol)
-for those who made it, thank you:D

2. REHEARSAL
- THURSDAY 2:30pm at ADNI
- FRIDAY 9am at ISTAAC: Please be at ADNI by 8:30am so that we can all go together to ISTAC:)

3. DECORS
-Today we've settled the decoration materials and things:D well, most of them... and most likely we'd be putting up the stuff on saturday before the dinner itself.
-I'm not so sure if we have the whole day to ourselves at Raintree or if we could just have a few hours before to put up the stuff.. but for sure i will update you guys on that:) Meaning after the morning ceremoney, we might go straight to raintree or just go to raintree a few hours before the real thing.
- remember our attire is part of the decors. Theme is WHITE and GOLD but we've extended to what we are allowed to wear to the colours: Brown, Beige, gold white and black

4. PARKING at RAINTREE
-Just to inform you guys that Raintree might most likely reserve parking spaces IN the club's compound to club members only. So maybe some people would have to park outside at the roadside or somewhere... Just to let u guys know...

5. Send me your parents' names.

Here are a few reminders and updates:

1. PERFORMANCE PRACTICE -today

We had an awesome (and fun with lotsa laughter) meeting today:) I know some people are extremely busy and it's not easy for them to come but really, thanks a lot for attending the meeting. Our performance is taking shape now and it looks pretty good:D

2. GRADUATION DINNER THEME- white and gold

We have discussed among ourselves who attended the meeting today that we need a theme to suit the decorations thus we have settled with white and gold for the decors
However, the colours for our formal attire that night (what we're wearing) are EARTHY colours, therefore you can wear brown beige gold white and black:)

3. FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES

The carwash has received excellent response and would most probably continue next week. The week after, (from monday 31st march), I'm not so sure if it will still be on. KIV and I'll update you guys smore:)
Initially, we decided to sell Icecream floats but since it was not encouraged, some people have creatively thought up of the idea of selling burgers after school. Many thanks to those people for making it happen:D you guys are doing a great job.

4. SOUVENIR BOOK

due to the low response from our batch for the souvenir book, we have decided that it is the best that we cancel the souvenir book since it does take up quite a sum of money as well.

5. SATURDAY MEETING

Next saturday meeting will be held on 29th March 2008, sharp at 9am at Muttaqin Development Centre (ie Khalifah Lodge)
Please be reminded that this is our last -saturday- meeting (next saturday would be 5th april, THE day!) before the rehearsal (on friday 4th April).

Updates for graduation!

1. COSTUME TRYOUT

Please take note that this week is the costume tryout. See Kak Aisyah if you want to try them out at ADNI Office.

2. INVITATION

Remember to pick up your invitation from the office too.
Fees per person is RM 45. However the fee for the graduate is sponsored.

3. SOUVENIER BOOK

Fuddy reported that not many people has replied to her... So for the people who did reply to her, she'll use that as the text
There were some people who specially did theirs in a special format... Like their writing together with their picture which they did on the computer... so then if we were to do like that, i don't think many of us can...
As for the other people, probably we'll just take the words from the ones they wrote for the fikrah adni and just choose some random pics:P
However, since we ARE just taking the exact same words from the fikrah adni, here's the big question: Do we really need a souvenier book then? Because then it would be like a miniature replica.. in booklet form. It does cost money... Let me know of your opinions.

4. EVENT DECORATOR

Fuddy has (again) reported me about the event decorator: the Danial guy
Danial said that he needed us to come up with a theme or colour of some sort so he can work from there since themes play a huge role in the decorating part and that what we're wearing plays a big role because it's part of the decorations too
his kind of thinking is sorta more to adult-ish designs, like batik or just one colour
so if we want another event decorator, then maybe i can make some calls to search for one
but in the event that we do not want an event decorator, then we just handle the decorations ourselves.. though that might prove a little difficult.

5. SATURDAY MEETING 22nd MARCH 2008

This saturday we will have a Performance practice at 9am. Please be there since we only have about 2 more weeks left.
Our performance is part of the "TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS". The other part is a slideshow. For those who have pictures of teachers, please can you bring it this saturday and pass it to me? Just bring your pendrive or something and I'll find a way to transfer it to mine:)

NOTE TO IMRAN: I know you can't make it this saturday so please can you find a way to give me some pictures if you have any? Which i know you do lol. please and thank you:)

Please remember that to raise funds, we have also decided to bring recyclable materials to be sent to the recycling center. So everyone please remember to bring recyclable materials on saturday!:D

6. FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES

Alhamdulillah some of us have done the carwash daily at ADNI and it has proven to be successful:D our teachers have been supportive too. Many thanks to those who contributed their time and effort for making it work out; you guys know who you are. Thank you all:)
We've collected about RM400+ if I'm not mistaken and since our Ice Cream Float didn't work out, that's quite a sum raised within these past few weeks with just the carwash:)

Just wanted to remind you guys on a few things.

There will be PERFORMANCE PRACTICE this SATURDAY, 15th MARCH 2008 at 9am. (As well as every Saturday til our Graduation Day) See you there:)

Costume tryouts will take place next week from 17th-22nd March. Please see Kak Aishah at the office for assistance.

as Alia mentioned in one of her e-mails, i'm suppose to compile stuff for the souvenier book. there are a few things that i need from you guys;

1. name, birthdate
2. a sentence about you that you want people to remember you by. it could be anything, like a quote or something. its sorta like the yearbook thing we did last year, remember?
3. a picture of yourself. yea this time you can do whatever pose and wear whatever, just dont cover your face too much yea. pic of your top half would be good. or just your face is ok too. ahah you can send more than one pic if you want, i'll just take the better of the lot.

UPDATES 3 Graduation

Sorry for the late updates. there were some details which took some time to be confirmed.

Our meeting with Puan Zaiton last Friday (29th February 2008) was fruitful. Alhamdulillah, we've agreed AND secured on a venue for our graduation dinner which will be at Raintree Club.

Our proposals were also approved. Here are the details about and leading to our Graduation:

For the girls' Graduation Costume for the morning ceremony, please take note that the gold and black jubah can be:

borrowed from a senior (you have to search and inquire yourself)
rented from the school (see Kak Aishah between 17^th-23^rd March for size-fitting)
bought by themselves (I'm not so sure about this since buying it would mean different designs... I think you have to ask Puan Zaiton Malek if the design has to be similar to the original one. Or maybe there is a shop which sells the exact same one... Please inquire her, thank you:)

Please take note that Performance practices will take place every Saturday morning at ADNI. Due to the time constraint, we only have about 4 practice times, so please be there.

UPDATES 2 Graduation

Salam all.

Today was the meeting with Puan Zaiton. These are the things outlined:

1. Graduation Committee

needs to be formed

Dates

4th Friday - Rehearsal
5th Saturday (morning) - ISTAAC Graduation
5th Saturday (night) - Venue Dinner

Attendees

A formal invitation will be sent out
However, there are certain people incharge of determining the number of people attending. this is to estimate how much food is required. Please make sure that you confirm the number of people attending both the graduation morning and dinner. The people in charge are as follows:

5A- Puteri Nur Aqilah
5B- Mohd Sharafuddin
5C- Fatimah Az-Zahraa

Costumes

Girls- black + gold jubah.
Boys - white robe (provided by the school) with a black baju melayu worn inside
Cost of renting the costume is RM 30
If you want a photography session, an extra of rm 30 is charged
Opting for both renting AND photography requires payment of only rm 50 (instead of rm30+rm30=rm60)
Trial for fitting costumes will be held from 17th March until 22nd March. Please see Kak Aishah anytime you are available between those times at the ADNI office to try them out.

3. Graduation Dinner

Venue

Although we have come up with various venues, we have shortlisted them to 3 as the other places are fully booked or over the budget. We have yet to decide the venue and it will be confirmed soon according to the suitability, insyaAllah. The places are:

K Club

Program
Fees

The school will pay for the Venue and catering services before hand, thus our payments will be done later.
The catering for graduands are paid for
Teachers are paid for either by sponsors or parents
Parents or any family members require to pay for themselves
Fees will be determined according to the catering services

Program Book

The school has informed us that a program book will be made which will contain pictures and information of Graduands.

4. Performance

For the Graduation Dinner, we are required to do a performance. After much discussion and brainstorming, we have decided upon a performance which contains both a clip and acting. Dates for performance practices have yet to be confirmed but please do attend them as it is OUR presentation.

5. Fund raising

The need to fund raise is mainly to ease the 'financial burden' for the Graduation Dinner. Also, it is a KIV to hire an event decorator. The fund raising has not yet been confirmed but ideas are very much welcomed and those who are free to help out, please let me know.
